January Fitness Tip – Aerobic Fitness Should Be Considered a Vital Sign
A new statement from the American Heart Association says aerobic fitness should be considered a vital sign and become part of annual physical exams.
A recent New York Times article indicated that fitness can be a better indicator of someone’s risk of early death and heart disease than standard risk factors like: smoking, obesity and high blood pressure. That is certainly something to think about! The article went on to say that Doctors should assess our aerobic fitness and advise those whose fitness level is low to begin an exercise regimen.
