It is with great enthusiasm that we announce JP Mahoney as the Orange County Sports Club Employee of the Month for May 2020.

JP has been a member of the Orange County Sports Club team for two years. Throughout his tenure at OCSC, JP has proved to be an integral part of the team. Many of you may know him for his engaging personality and comforting demeanor at the front desk.  JP takes a great deal of pride in connecting with members in a way that allows him to be more in tune with the community.  Building those relationships allows for members, participants and staff keep a healthy and positive outlook.

What many of you don’t know about JP is just how thoughtful and supportive he is behind the scenes.  Working in a facility with so many departments and personalities can often lend itself to a concentration in one area.  However, JP is one of a few individuals at OCSC who is well versed across the board.  Whether it involves Fitness Center inquiries, Gymnastics program registration, Warrior Zone scheduling or general sales initiatives, JP can support with them all.  And let’s not forget that JP is the Birthday Party Coordinator, as well.  Needless to say, his skills and approach are invaluable.

As the Birthday Party Coordinator, JP spends many weekend hours scheduling, coordinating and facilitating some of the best birthday parties in Orange County.

When asked about his proudest moment at OCSC, JP went on to say:

“Overall, I am most proud of my involvement in building a birthday party TEAM.  It can be difficult to create and develop a lasting team dynamic amongst staff members but I am very proud that we have been able to accomplish that.  It’s great to see it all come together and improve each week.”

Prior to joining the OCSC family, JP spent just under 10 years living in Manhattan and working in video editing and administration.  There’s nothing he enjoys more than good fiction; especially high-quality television where he considers himself the pioneer of the “binge watch.”

JP is always on the hunt for continued growth and development.  And although when asked provide his personal motto or philosophy he said “this could take a while,” he also went on to say “I think that it is best to make yourself available to help people achieve whatever it is they are after.  I also think that it is best to collaborate with others when trying to reach one’s goals.  There are few feelings more gratifying as the sense of accomplishment that a group of likeminded people feel when they’ve overcome obstacles and achieved their goals.”

A note from the General Manager:

“JP was one of the first people I met when I joined the OCSC team.  Little did he know when I stopped in on that Saturday morning (one week before I was slated to start work at OCSC) that I’d eventually be working with him.  But JP never missed a beat!  When I walked through the door, he greeted me with a big smile, provided information about the entire facility and operation, and even went on to offer me a tour.  From that point on, I knew that I could trust in his ability, professionalism and dedication to his craft.  OCSC prides itself on creating those connections and JP sets the tone for the entire staff.  Thank you for your commitment and support to OCSC, JP!

Please help us in congratulating JP Mahoney as Orange County Sports Clubs Employee of the Month!
Thank you very much for all your hard work and dedication!
